Bio Paragraph
Rachel Wallace was born and raised in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, and is a proud graduate of Pottsville Area High School. She has spent her career in public service. She started out working for her Congressman, Tim Holden, and went on to serve in the U.S. State Department, the U.S. Senate, and the White House, where she was Chief of Staff for the Office of Management and Budget. So she knows how the federal government works – and how it doesn’t.
Why I'm Running
Rachel moved home after her mom was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease so she could be closer to her family, which has lived in Berks and Schuylkill counties for 10 generations. The daughter of a pastor and a nurse, Rachel is focused on fixing our health care, lowering the cost of living, and keeping our promises to veterans and farmers. Her campaign will hold Dan Meuser accountable for his votes to take away health care from tens of thousands of district residents while doubling his own wealth since taking office.

Bio Paragraph
Dan Byron is a single father, a student, and a management professional; seeking to bring his decade of leadership experience and team building to Washington. Dan believes that the priority of the Democratic Party has to be the support of the working class; through policies that pursue affordability, expand access, and ensure accountability in areas ranging from Healthcare and Housing, to Student Debt and Childcare.
Why I'm Running
Dan is running to ensure that his son has access to the American Dream, and to promote systemic change that corrects the errors in our politics. That is why Dan does not take contributions from special interests, Super PACs, or Corporate donors; because for too long politicians have been beholden to interests other than that of their constituency. Dan believes that 2026 is a moment for working class Pennsylvanians to rally behind a working class candidate; one who can build a team, lead the charge, and organize without needing Washington’s support or influence.”

Bio Paragraph
I grew up believing that you show up for your neighbors, work hard, and never forget where you came from. I spent my childhood on a farm in the Rust Belt and Coal Country, learning early what family responsibility means as I cared for my grandfather through his battle with Alzheimer’s. I spent a lot of time with my grandparents. My grandfathers, one a WWII veteran turned farmer and the other a Vietnam veteran turned union carpenter, taught me the importance of standing together and standing up for what’s right. In my adult life, I balanced working full time in multiple roles, earning degrees in Political Science and Criminal Justice, and raising my daughter, Tawny (who will be 18 by the 2026 general election). I’ve served my community in the workforce as a private investigator, at a police department, in higher education, as an entrepreneur and in banking, often working in multiple roles at once. I’ve fought for truth and fairness in every role. From drafting and defending PREA policies at the police department, to lobbying for at-risk students at the university, to ensuring workers’ rights as a union member, to investigating those that claim to be powerful, I know what it is like to fight for what’s right and win because I have won. I’m not going to settle for “the way things have always been” because I was taught that doesn’t make them the way they should be. Additionally, I’m a rape survivor who has fought for women’s rights and a member of the LGBTQIA+ community who has fought for inclusion; both because no one should have to fight to be seen. Tawny and I call District 9 home; I have put blood sweat and tears into renovating our 1840’s home while I built a community rooted in mutual care, hard work, shared responsibility, and I look toward a future rooted here serving our neighbors.
Why I'm Running
I’m running because too many hardworking families know what it feels like to be overlooked by the very people meant to represent them. I’ve watched neighbors lose jobs when plants closed, seen loved ones stretch medicine to get through the month, and felt the same worry so many parents feel when costs rise and wages stay the same. I’ve lived through struggles like going weeks without running water, or having food insecurity and saw firsthand how families facing the same challenge had nowhere to turn. After years of advocating for others and pushing for policies that removed barriers, my community asked me to step forward. Frankly put, it wasn’t the first time I was asked to run for office but this time the calling to run became too strong to ignore. I’m running to make sure our voices are finally heard, to fight for fair wages, accessible healthcare, and a government that works for ordinary people, not corporations or political insiders. I’m running because no one here should ever feel invisible in their own home. I’m running because “the way things are” doesn’t work for the majority of people here in District 9 but I will.

Pennsylvanians have voted to retain three Democratic state Supreme Court justices, granting them additional terms on the bench. Justices Christine Donohue, Kevin Dougherty, and David Wecht were on the ballot Tuesday. They were first elected in 2015 in a sweep that flipped the court from Republican to Democratic control.
Democratic Mayors were elected in Auburn, Middleport, Palo Alto, and Schuylkill Haven. Many more were elected to borough councils, township supervisors, tax collectors, and auditors. We distributed over 15,000 doorhangers to Demcorats and Independents, which made Schuylkill County less red. The Vote Yes campaign worked as we almost received 50% of the vote. Statewide, we swept all of the Judicial positions and had a blue wave across the country.
